Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how OverFlight Intelligence ("OverFlight," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the OverFlight Intelligence mobile application (the "App"). We built the App to be privacy‑respecting: it does not require an account, and most of your data stays on your device or in your own iCloud.
Information we collect
- Location. With your permission, the App uses your device's location to find aircraft near you and to record where you logged a sighting. Your coordinates are sent to our server only to fetch nearby aircraft for you. Location is not tied to your identity and is not used to track you across apps or websites.
- Photos and logbook entries. Photos you add and the sightings you log are stored on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, they are stored in your personal iCloud account (Apple CloudKit) so they appear on your other devices. We do not store your photos or logbook on our servers.
- Notification token. If you enable alerts, your device's push token is registered with our server so we can deliver watchlist and wishlist notifications. It is used only to send you those alerts.
- Advertising data. The free version of the App shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect an advertising identifier, coarse location, and app‑interaction and diagnostic data to serve and measure ads. The App currently requests only non‑personalized ads and does not ask to track you. See Google's policy at policies.google.com.
- Server logs. Our server keeps standard, short‑lived technical logs (such as IP address and request time) to operate the service, prevent abuse, and enforce rate limits.
How we use information
- To provide the App's features (nearby aircraft, maps, airport boards, routes, logos).
- To deliver the alerts you have set up.
- To show ads in the free version.
- To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
Third‑party services
The App relies on third‑party services to function. Aircraft, flight, and imagery data are provided by sources including ADSB.lol, AeroDataBox, Planespotters, and logostream. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. These providers process data under their own privacy policies.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties except as needed to provide the App (for example, sending your query location to our server to return nearby aircraft, or Google serving ads in the free version).
iCloud
If you enable iCloud sync, the relevant data is stored in your own iCloud account and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can turn sync off in the App's settings.
Data retention
Your photos and logbook remain until you delete them or remove the App. iCloud data remains until you delete it from iCloud. Server logs are retained only briefly for operational purposes.
Your choices
- Turn location access on or off in iOS Settings.
- Turn iCloud sync and notifications on or off in the App's settings.
- Reset or limit your advertising identifier in iOS Settings.
- Subscribe to OverFlight Pro to remove ads.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes are effective when posted here, with the date above updated accordingly.
